THANK YOU LORD
What do you do the moment you wake up? This morn I woke up thanking the Creator for another day that He had added to my Life. Tranquillity, cool breeze, chatter of birds added to the wonderful day. I was reminded of the thought with which I slept the previous night- whom do I turn to?
Everyone faces different phases in life- a moment to rejoice and you share your happiness with those round, some moments with dear ones are treasured forever in one’s memories and still are moments that one could have worked really hard to get there. On the other hand, one goes through tough times; those that are painful but still have a glorious end as the saying goes, ‘The road to success is not a bed of roses but of thorns’. People don’t mind enduring the thorns with their goals in sight…that keeps them going. Some situations are the results of one’s actions. You do something and endure the consequences that follow. A few admit their faults and learn from them while those that deny miss a lesson that life could have taught them. And finally, one also goes through times that one hardly speaks of; you suffer silently, have no guts to speak up and even feel guilty though the fault is not yours. This is when I ask to whom do I turn to? Should I turn to the best of my friends, my kith and kin etc? At times I think I can’t take a step further as I walk through the pain. Then I stop and cry in silence. I start again when I hear a voice say- Life is still worth living. He lifts me up and I continue the walk with Him, my Shepherd, my Friend and my Guide.
It’s true everyone faces hard times. Many end their lives when they think they can no longer face the situation. How often we worry, grumble and waste time contemplating what we could have done or what we could have been! Have you realized being thankful for every little thing can make a difference? That’s why people say, ‘Have an attitude of gratitude’. Thank God for the sunshine and rain, for the blessings and pains. Thank Him for all those who care for you and those around you that you can care for. When you always find a reason to be thankful, the more you keep your mind off your problems.
Thank you, Lord for the sunrise! |
When you go through a trial, remember there is nothing too hard to go through. The Creator has given us life to live and what He wants is that we live it for Him. Turn to Him every time you fall because He is always there. Pray to me in time of trouble. I will rescue you, and you will honour me (Psalms 50:15).
He who hath led will lead
All through the wilderness
He who hath fed will surely feed
He who hath heard thy cry
Will never close His ear
He who hath marked thy faintest sigh
Will not forget thy tear
He loveth always, faileth never
So rest on Him today-forever – Amy Carmichael
